When We Were Young: Rethinking Abstracts from the University at Albany Art Collections (1967-present) October 6 through December 16, 2017 University Art Museum, Fine Arts Building Join the University Art Museum as it celebrates its legacy this fall with the 50th anniversary exhibition When We Were Young: Rethinking Abstraction from the University at Albany Art Collections (1967-present). When We Were Young looks back and highlights the earliest years of the University at Albany Art Collections. Shining a fresh light on late-Modernist abstraction as it relates to current trends in contemporary art. Artists include Josef Albers, Max Bill, Jack Bosson, Chryssa, Gene Davis, Donald Judd, Ellsworth Kelly, Michael Kidner, Kim Lim, Luis Molinari Flores, Henry Pearson, Peter Taylor among others. When We Were Young exhibition will run from Friday, October 6 through Saturday, December 16, 2017. There will be a 50th Anniversary and Homecoming Welcome Reception held on Friday, October 20, 5:00-7:00pm, co-sponsored by UAlbany Alumni Association. On Saturday, October 21 at 11am and 1pm, there will be exhibition tours with Dr. Robert R. Shane. Events are free and open to the public. The University at Albany Foundation, University Art Museum Endowed Director’s Fund, and University Auxiliary Services.
