A series of workshops are being held across Western Massachusetts to educate the public, as well as municipal leaders and planners, on the importance of improving stream crossings for fish and wildlife, and for promoting public safety.

VALHALLA – Updated plans and costs to construct the new Tappan Zee Bridge were presented to the public Tuesday night at a forum at Mount Pleasant Town Hall in Valhalla.

Brian Conybeare, the special advisor to the governor on the bridge project, presenting updated plans and figures on the bridge, which will begin construction this year.

Aging Infrastructure: Sinkholes

Officials in the city of Kingston say repair work is expected to begin today on an expanding sinkhole that opened along a busy street. Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Dave Lucas reports…

The sinkhole, formed in April near a city intersection, is being blamed on a leaky tunnel 75 feet deep that was constructed by New York City about 100 years ago.
