Albany Medical College recently received a $10.2 million grant from the National Institutes of Health for research on a vaccine to prevent a dangerous and somewhat mysterious disease called tularemia, also known as “rabbit fever.” The disease is carried by rodents, and can be transmitted to humans, but those cases are rare.
