Andrew Cuomo held the districts up as models for the rest of the state, while promising them $12 million in competitive grants over the next three years.</p><p>Rochester is the biggest winner, receiving $4.5 million for identifying $9.5 million in savings. Lieutenant Governor Timothy Murray says that the $2.25M round of funding is important for solidifying important programs, but will also save cities and towns money in the long-term.</p> Thu, 14 Feb 2013 17:30:28 +0000 Lucas Willard 57831 at http://wamc.org Massachusetts Program Supports Regionalization of Community Initiatives $2 Million in Development Grants Okayed in Vermont http://wamc.org/post/2-million-development-grants-okayed-vermont <p>Governor Peter Shumlin is announcing nearly $2 million in Vermont Community Development Program grants.<br /><br />Of the total, $600,000 will go toward renovation of a landmark building in the center of Morristown, the former Arthur&#39;s department store.
