This Sunday, May 26th - Club Helsinki in association with Showstoppers New York presents Judy Kuhn in All This Happiness as part of their Helsinki on Broadway cabaret series.

Judy Kuhn is a three time Tony nominee for her work in the Broadway musicals: Les Miserables, Chess, and She Loves Me. She was also the singing voice of Pocahantas in the 1995 animated Disney film of the same name, which means she sang the Academy Award winning song, “Colors of the Wind” in that movie.

In All This Happiness she weaves together tunes from the pop songwriters and musical theatre composers that have had the most influence on her.

This segment begins with audio from an episode of the 1980s television series, Fame. In the clip, Carol Burnett performs with the eldest of her three daughters, Carrie. Carrie was a series regular and Carol joined the program as a guest star.

In 2002 - at the age of 38 - Carrie died of cancer.

The new book, Carrie and Me: A Mother-Daughter Love Story is Carol Burnett’s poignant tribute to her late daughter and a funny and moving memoir about mothering an extraordinary young woman through the struggles and triumphs of her life. Sharing her personal diary entries, photographs, and correspondence, Carol traces the journey she and Carrie took through some of life’s toughest challenges.

Comedian and multi-media powerhouse, Mo’Nique, will perform four shows at Levity Live in West Nyack, NY this weekend - two on Friday and two on Saturday.

In 1999, Mo’Nique’s career took a quantum leap once she landed the starring role as Nikki Parker on UPN’s hit television series, “The Parkers.” Mo’Nique was also the first female to host NBC’s nationally televised program, “Showtime at the Apollo” in 2002. She carried the legendary torch for three consecutive seasons. In 2010 she won the Academy Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for the film, Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire.

Charlotte d'Amboise - Broadway Revival of "Pippin"

This week, Pippin opens on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre. With book by Roger O. Hirson, music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, Pippin is directed by Diane Paulus. This production features sizzling choreography in the style of Bob Fosse and breathtaking acrobatics by Les 7 doigts de la main. Gypsy Snider helmed the circus creation and choreography is by Chet Walker.

This is the first Broadway revival of Pippin since the Tony Award winning original production directed by Bob Fosse and starring Ben Vereen - which opened in 1972.

The cast features Matthew James Thomas, Patina Miller, Andrea Martin, Rachel Bay Jones, Terrence Mann, and Charlotte d’Amboise.

Tony Award nominee, Charlotte d’Amboise plays Fastrada - her other Broadway credits include Chicago, A Chorus Line, Jerome Robbins Broadway, Sweet Charity, Damn Yankees, Contact, Company, Carrie, Song & Dance, and CATS. She is also the co-founder (with husband Terrence Mann) of a Musical Theatre Intensive called Triple Arts.

Tonight, Tony Award® Winner Richard Greenberg’s new play The Assembled Parties opens at Manhattan Theatre Club in New York City - it’s been in previews since March 21st and is scheduled to run through June 2nd.

The Assembled Parties welcomes us to the world of the Bascovs, an Upper West Side Jewish family in 1980. In a sprawling Central Park West apartment, former movie star Julie Bascov and her sister-in-law Faye bring their families together for their traditional holiday dinner. But tonight, things are not usual. A houseguest has joined the festivities for the first time and he unwittingly - or perhaps by design - insinuates himself into the family drama. Twenty years later, as 2001 approaches, the Bascovs' seemingly picture-perfect life may be about to crumble.

The play is directed by Manhattan Theatre Club’s Artistic Director, Lynne Meadow, and the cast includes Tony and 2-time Emmy winner Judith Light, Tony nominee Jeremy Shamos, and Tony nominee Jessica Hecht.

Jessica Hecht’s other Broadway credits include The Last Night at of Ballyhoo, After the Fall, Julius Ceasar, Brighton Beach Memoirs, A View from the Bridge, and Harvey. Recent television credits include AMC’s Breaking Bad and HBO’s Bored to Death.
