Judges Orders Horses Returned to Alleged Abuser

Carlisle, NY – A judge recently dismissed all charges of animal cruelty against a horse breeding farm in Carlisle, NY. The Schoharie County District Attorney's office immediately appealed that decision. And now, WAMC has learned that the judge has overruled that appeal and ordered the allegedly abused horses back to the farm where they were originally seized. David Guistina reports.

Border Patrol Volunteer Group Finds Lukewarm Response to Recruiting Efforts in Northeast

Plattsburgh, NY – The Minuteman Project has been highly visible since beginning a border watch for illegal immigrants along the Arizona-Mexico border. The citizen militia plans to bring its cadre of volunteer border-watchers to the Northeast next month. But it's encountering a problem: they can't find local volunteers to patrol the US-Canadian border.

New York Attorney General Speaks to Plattsburgh Chamber Members

Plattsburgh, NY – New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, who also hopes to be the Democratic candidate for governor next year, is pushing for a more dynamic approach to economic development in the state. Last night he appeared at the Clinton County Democratic Party's Harvest Dinner. This morning he spoke to members of the Plattsburgh/North Country Chamber of Commerce during their Government Affairs Breakfast Forum. Climate Change Conference to Assess Neglected Issues Surrounding Global Warming
