Congressmen From Region Sign on to Big Oil Legislation

Washington, DC – A group of Democratic Congressmen, including representatives from New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts, announced new legislation on Thursday that they say could double domestic oil production and help reduce gas prices. The Democratic proposal would impose a fee on oil companies that do not begin to actively utilize leases and permits they already hold on 68 million acres, but remain dormant.
