Berkshire County immigrant population on the rise

Pittsfield, MA – According to U.S. Census data, immigrants in Berkshire County comprise 3.7 percent of its population, and decreased by about 100 people in 2006.
But officials at the Berkshire Immigrant Center in Pittsfield, Massachusetts point to its 11-fold increase in clients as just one of several indicators that the county's foreign born population is much larger and on the rise. WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief, Carrie Saldo, has this report;
