HV Anti-War Groups to Protest

Kingston, NY – Some anti-war demonstrators say their plans for a protest in Ulster County tomorrow will not be quashed by the season's first snowfall. The protest comes as participants say it's time to re-energize anti-war activities. WAMC's Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Allison Dunne has more.

Ski Areas Opening Early, but Relying on Snow-making

Plattsburgh, NY – Killington Resort in Vermont became the first ski area in the East to open for the season this past Tuesday. Other ski areas are quickly following suit. But skiers would not be on the slopes in early November if ski areas weren't snow-making. And that's something ski resorts are becoming increasingly reliant on...both to get an early start and to maintain the slopes throughout the winter. More from Pat Bradley.

Victims' Rights Advocates Upset Bishop Won't be Prosecuted

Springfield, MA – Advocates for victims of clergy abuse are disappointed again after a second jurisdiction has said they can't prosecute an indicted bishop. As WAMC's Kelly Wilkinson reports, many of them are calling for the statute of limitations on sex crimes to be lifted.

Dean PAC Looks to Future

Burlington, VT – When Howard Dean's presidential bid ended, his campaign organization "Dean For America" morphed into a political action committee called "Democracy for America". Now that the 2004 elections are over, the group is looking at long term strategies to strengthen the Democratic Party.
