Albany, NY – The Hudson Valley Greenway has announced the recipients of the 2006 Greenway Conservancy Small Grant Program. Thirteen projects throughout the designated Greenway area have been awarded a total of $75,000.

Albany, NY – There's a call to "get the lead out" of New York, with two state Senators introducing legislation to eliminate lead poisoning in compliance with a federal mandate to do so by 2010.
Every year 10-thousand children in New York State are newly identified as "lead poisoned." Exposure to lead, primarily in the form of lead dust from deteriorating paint in older buildings, causes permanent IQ loss and intellectual impairment.

Kingston, NY – As Kingston and Benedictine Hospitals hammer out a realignment agreement, they've been close-lipped about the issue that's hung up merger talks in the past. Abortion has always been a sticking point for the Catholic Benedictine - the hospital won't partner with another hospital that performs them. Kingston is finally going public with the deal it has hammered out with Benedictine over reproductive health, but some advocacy groups don't like it. WAMC's Julia Taylor reports.
