Lawmakers May Insist on Paper Records for New Voting Machines

Ulster County, NY – A verifiable paper record is what Ulster County, NY lawmakers may insist on, as a key component of any new voting technology. The legislature will vote next week on a local law mandating that any voting technology to be used in Ulster County must provide a paper record that is the actual paper (a) manually marked by the voter and (b) in the case of voters with disabilities, marked by a marking device .
