Pittsfield, MA – There are three bio-diesel refineries planned for construction in Massachusetts. Thursday, State Senate President Therese Murray toured the Pittsfield site, which would be the largest producer of the alternative fuel source in the state. Montpelier, VT – New Hampshire's consumer advocate has recommended that state utility regulators reject Verizon's plan to sell its land-line telephone service to Fairpoint Communications. The recommendation came shortly after Maine regulators were also advised to reject it. That is good news for opponents of the sale, which must be approved by regulators in all three affected states - Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
