Western, MA – The Massachusetts Department of Public Health released a report that for the first time, provides data covering a range of health topics broken down by region, race and ethnicity. And grant funds were allocated to organizations working to combat health disparities at the local level.

Springfield, MA – A divided Springfield Finance Control Board has voted to conduct a search for a new police commissioner. The three gubernatorial appointees on the board rejected calls from the mayor of Springfield , the mayor-elect, and others to forego a search in favor of appointing a local candidate.
