Creative Index would assess arts in schools

Boston, MA – The concept of Creative economy has been the focus of a county-wide study in the Berkshires and was a focus of statewide community meetings held by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick. Now, a Berkshire County legislator has filed a bill that would monitor the teaching of creativity and innovation in Massachusetts' classrooms.

Mayor Questions Fire Chief Comp Time

Plattsburgh, NY – The mayor of Plattsburgh, New York is charging the city's fire chief with taking hundreds of hours of comp time that he claims the chief had no right to use. Warming to the fact of climate change?

Great Barrington, MA – Each year in the United States the average person generates 15,000 pounds of carbon dioxide. That means residents in Berkshire County alone are responsible for about two billion pounds of the gases that contribute to global warming.
