Park Agency Staff Recommends More Hearings on Resort Project in Adirondacks

Sam's Point sold to state

Kingston, NY – Minnewaska State Park Preserve has grown to encompass a 3800-acre swath called Sam's Point. New York state finally bought the land from the Open Space Institute after 10 years of bargaining over the terms of the sale -- that's also how long Sam's Point was off of the local tax rolls. Open Space is excited that the land will be preserved, and local leaders are excited for the tax boost. WAMC's Julia Taylor reports.
