Saratoga Springs, NY – Upstate New York Republican Congressman John Sweeney lost his bid last night for a fifth term in Washington. A dramatic show of support for Democratic challenger Kirsten Gillibrand gave her the edge in the hotly contested race. John Hall Takes Sue Kelly in 19th

Cold Spring, NY – Democrat John Hall declared victory just before midnight. His challenge to six-term, incumbent Republican Congresswoman Sue Kelly in the 19th Congressional District proved to be the close race many predicted. Unofficial results put Hall as receiving just upwards of 3,500 votes over Kelly, or 51 percent to her 49 percent. Hudson Valley Special Correspondent Allison Dunne was at Hall's party in Westchester County last night, and has this report.
