Newspaper Outraged Over Bureau Chief Firing, Wants To Drop AP News In Protest

St. Albans, VT – At least one Vermont newspaper has taken initial steps to cancel its membership with the Associated Press. The publisher of the St. Albans Messenger says the national and international news organization has been too tight-lipped over the termination of its highly respected Vermont Bureau Chief, and questions whether he, or his readers, can trust the AP any longer. Spitzer Delivers Environmental Message

Albany, NY – In one of a series of policy addresses, New York Attorney General and Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Eliot Spitzer called for the shutdown of the Indian Point Nuclear Power complex, and blasted the environmental record of the Bush Administration. The speech took place Wednesday, March 29 at WAMC's Linda Norris Auditorium in Albany.
