Tupper Lake, NY – The Adirondack Club and Resort is a proposed development in and around the former Big Tupper Ski Area. It would be the largest development project ever considered by the Adirondack Park Agency. The developers and town officials supporting the project held an informational meeting Thursday evening in an effort to quell negative rumors about the project. Montpelier, VT – A bill is being introduced in the Vermont Legislature today that would expand marriage to include same-sex couples. Opponents say its simply another of several on-going efforts in Vermont to change civil unions to marriage. WAMC's North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley has more.
Bellows Falls, VT – About one hundred people attended a meeting in Bellows Falls, Vermont earlier this week to discuss a plan that would put surveillance cameras in various places around the village. The police chief says it would help his small department. But most people attending the three hour meeting were strongly opposed to the idea. WAMC's North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley has more.
Clifton Park, NY – Strengthening New York's sex offender laws has been one of the top priorities in the state legislature this session. But Saratoga County officials are dissatisfied with the state's efforts so far.
