Ski Areas Hope For Snow

Lake Placid, NY – By the time Thanksgiving rolls around, holiday decorations are on full display and, normally, the larger ski resorts have some of their trails open. But this year, skiers and resort operators are disappointed that the weather has forced them to wait to make snow and delayed their opening. WAMC's North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley has more.

Bill Designating More Wilderness In Green Mountain National Forest Passes

Montpelier, VT – A bill to expand designated wilderness areas in New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest and Vermont's Green Mountain National Forest was passed by Congress this week. Passage of the Wilderness Bill had been delayed during the regular Congressional session following political bickering between Vermont's Congressional delegation and Governor.
