Adirondack Council Begins Selling Carbon Credits to the Public

Albany, NY – In September, the member states of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative held the first auction of carbon-dioxide emission allowances in North America. They auctioned nearly 12-and-a-half million allowances to energy, financial and environmental interests. The Adirondack Council is now selling the allowances it obtained to individuals so that the CO2 credits can be permanently retired. WAMC's North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley has more.
