Program and Outreach Director

Katie grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY and is a graduate of the University at Albany.  Aside from overseeing the programming, she also is in charge of the WAMC Internship Program, and community outreach. Her voice can be heard on The Roundtable & National Productions. Katie is also the baker in residence and showers the newsroom with cakes & pies.

YA Author Alyson Noel

Author Alyson Noel is no stranger to hard work. After completing her Immortals Series, she moved onto The Riley Bloom books for tweens, and has just started another YA series called The Soul Seekers. The common thread is one of mysticism, shamanism and chakras. While creating her own worlds that include alternate planes, as well as the Here and Now, she writes as if we were experiencing what her characters are.

Death Cab For Cutie's Nick Harmer

Influenced by the down to earth style of the 90’s grunge scene, the indie rock band Death Cab For Cutie has climbed its way to the top with hits like “Crooked Teeth” and "I Will Follow You into the Dark".  With its unique lead vocalist Ben Gibbard and alternative sound, the band has released 7 studio albums, and stayed true to their mission of making music that speaks to both them and their fans.

Originally penned 15 years ago, "The 30 Things Every Woman Should Have and Should Know by the Time She’s 30" went viral as women began to forward it to one another on-line. Few people know it was written by Glamour magazine’s Pamela Redmond Satran, some even going so far as believing Maya Angelou or Hillary Clinton wrote it.
