Another 10 people have been arrested by Massachusetts State Police for trespassing in Otis State Forest Wednesday. The demonstrators are trying to block Kinder Morgan’s Connecticut pipeline expansion.
10 Sugar Shack Alliance members were arrested for blocking access roads and trespassing too close to tree felling equipment.
22 were arrested last week. The Alliance says all told, 66 people have been arrested, some of whom have been ordered to pay a $100 fine.
The group has been trying for months to stop Kinder Morgan from laying down pipe to expand its natural gas pipeline into Western Massachusetts.
The latest to be arrested will be arraigned in Southern Berkshire District Court either this week or next.
