225th Anniversary of the Mum Bett Court Case

Great Barrington, MA – The two-hundred twenty-fifth anniversary of a landmark court case, which in essence sparked the beginning of the end of slavery in Massachusetts, will be marked Monday. The case was heard in a Great Barrington court over two days in August of 1781. Our Berkshire Bureau Chief, Carrie Saldo, has a preview of the commemoration as well as a series of events that celebrate the rich African American history of the region;
