The third of four public meetings on the Adirondack railroad corridor is being held today in Central New York - The meetings will weigh in deciding future plans for the 119-mile, state-owned railroad line that runs from Remsen to Lake Placid... Adirondack Scenic Railroad director Al Haywood is urging those concerned to show up for this afternoon's meeting  in Utica,  1 to 4 p.m., State Office Building, 207 Genesee Street.

Snowmobile enthusiasts want the train tracks replaced with a 90-mile trail for themselves that could be shared with bicyclists, hikers, and cross-country skiers.

The 4th and final meeting is to be held tomorrow night in Tupper Lake,   Tuesday, Sept. 17, 6 to 9 p.m., The Wild Center, 45 Museum Drive.
