New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman indicted a former SUNY Potsdam student Monday for hate crimes after making threats against a professor.
The attorney general charged Amjad Hussain of Elmira with two felony hate crimes. He allegedly delivered two messages that included death threats, racist and homophobic language to a professor and his family. After his arrest in November 2015 he then allegedly asked another person to deliver a third threatening note.

Hussain pleaded not guilty and was released under probation supervision and an order of protection for the professor, who was not identified.
