Albany Symphony 2012-13 Opening Night featuring Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony
By Joe Donahue
The Albany Symphony Orchestra is kicking off their 2012-2013 season this weekend. You can't look much further than the names of Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky for great music! They have stuffed two incredible blockbusters into one amazing concert that will move you with some of the most tender, most compassionate, and most achingly beautiful music ever written. The program will feature pianist Valentina Lisitsa - a Rachmaninoff specialist.
Lets face it, the ASO is one of the finest orchestras in the country led by one of the nation’s finest conductors – Maestro David Alan Miller.
