Ben Downing wins state senate seat
By Julia Taylor
Kingston, NY – Western Massachussetts Democrats voted to put up a fresh face for state senate in last night's District 1 primary. 25-year-old Ben Downing won the primary, in his first bid for political office. His closest competitor in the five-way race was Christopher Hodgkins, a twenty-year veteran of the state house. We have two reports: first, WAMC's Julia Taylor, who covered Downing's party in Pittsfield last night.
