Bennington Airport To Make Runway Repairs With Federal Grant

Vermont Agency of Transportation

The Bennington Airport in Vermont has received federal funding for runway repairs and other upgrades.

Vermont allocated $3.5 million it received from the federal Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration to make improvements at the William H. Morse State Airport in Bennington. The state matched 10 percent of those funds.

The funds will be used to rebuild the airport’s runway, extend the safety zone, start the construction of a parallel taxiway and update lighting.

Work is expected to start in 2018.
