Burlington Receives IBM Grant
By Pat Bradley
Burlington has received a grant from IBM that city officials hope will help them achieve sustainable energy goals.
Mayor Miro Weinberger and IBM officials announced Wednesday that Burlington will receive an IBM Smarter Cities Challenge grant
.
The city will use it to create a strategic sustainable energy plan to reduce energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
IBM will assign a team of six experts to work with the city.
The grant program is IBM's largest philanthropic initiative and Burlington is the smallest city in the country to receive the grant.
