Medical records and video recordings by police are expected to be two areas of focus as a Vermont legislative committee continues work to unravel issues surrounding technology and privacy.
The Senate Judiciary Committee is holding hearings this week and next to review issues relating to cell phone and email data, electronic medical records, flying drones and automated license plate readers.

On Tuesday, the committee heard law enforcement concerns that requiring a warrant for any access to communications data might be too broad.

On Wednesday those testifying included Chief Administrative Judge Brian Grearson and John Treadwell, head of the criminal division in the attorney general's office, as well as officials from the state medical society and hospital association.
