Chartock, Tonko Discuss Congressional Deals

While the race for the White House is taking a quick break for the Christmas holiday, politics will be heating up in 2016, with the presidency and the entire Congress up for grabs. In an interview series that debuts next week, WAMC’s political observer Dr. Alan Chartock speaks with New York Congressman Paul Tonko of the 20th District, a Democrat who says he’s optimistic about the party’s chances.

Dr. Alan Chartock is professor emeritus at the University at Albany. He hosts the weekly Capitol Connection series, heard on public radio stations around New York. The program, for almost 12 years, highlighted interviews with Governor Mario Cuomo and now continues with conversations with state political leaders. Dr. Chartock also appears each week on The Media Project and The Roundtable and offers commentary on Morning Edition, weekdays at 7:40 a.m.
