Connecticut Health Exchange Preparing For Open Enrollment

Connecticut's health insurance marketplace is providing a checklist of materials people need in order to purchase coverage through the exchange.Sunday marked the first day of open enrollment period. It runs through Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016. This marks the third open enrollment period.

Connecticut residents will need birthdates and Social Security numbers for all family members who need coverage. They will also need to provide information about citizenship or immigration status, and employer and income information. Tax returns may also be needed, as well as information about any current health insurance plans.

Certain organizations, such as libraries, will have staff on hand to help people with their applications. Locations are listed on Access Health CT's website. Enrollment centers will also be open in New Britain and New Haven.
