Connecticut River Cleanup Set
By Paul Tuthill
The biggest single-day river cleanup in New England takes place Saturday. WAMC”s Paul Tuthill reports
More than 1800 volunteers will clean up trash and debris along the Connecticut River and its tributaries in Vermont, New Hampshire , Massachusetts and Connecticut. This is the Connecicut River Watershed Council’s 16th annual Source to Sea Cleanup. The council’s event director, Angela Mronzinski says it is an ambitious effort to remove everything from bottles to tires to mattresses from the banks of the river.
The clean up helps keep the river safe for people and wildlife..
