CT Officials to Discuss Mosquito Management
The state of Connecticut's mosquito management team is unveiling plans for combating the pesky, and potentially harmful, insects. WAMC’s Tristan O’Neill reports…
Representatives from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection are scheduled to discuss mosquito management strategies for the summer season during a news conference, planned for Thursday morning at Bushnell Park in Hartford, across from DEEP's headquarters. The latest techniques, strategies and equipment being used to control mosquitoes will be displayed.
The DEEP mosquito experts are also scheduled to be available to answer questions about what residents can do to minimize their chance of getting bitten by mosquitoes, which can spread the West Nile virus — a potentially serious illness.
