Plattsburgh, NY – New York State's dairy assistance program, included in the 2007-08 state budget, made $30 million available to dairy farmers who produced milk during 2006. That's when milk prices to the farmers were at all-time lows. Final payments from that assistance program have now been sent to over five thousand dairy farmers statewide. WAMC's North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley has more.
