Dairy State Governors Press for Extension of Milk Subsidy Program

Albany, NY – New York Governor George Pataki and other dairy-state governors have sent a letter to Congressional leaders requesting a two year extension of a federal milk subsidy program for farmers. The program is credited with helping to stem dairy farm losses across the country, but it is set to expire September 30th, 2005......two years earlier than other Farm Bill programs.
