DC Legislators Green Light Jail Resolution
Poughkeepsie, NY – The expansion of the Dutchess County jail is one step closer. The county legislature voted Tuesday, along party lines, to issue bonds to pay for the architectural plans to expand the jail. All Democrats voted against, and all Republicans, in favor of, the resolution. Democrats say they want to first look into alternatives, while Republicans say there is no choice but to proceed with the expansion. More from WAMC's Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Allison Dunne.
