Deerpark Board opposes state gun law
By Hank Gross
HUGUENOT – The Deerpark Town Board voted Tuesday night to condemn the state’s new gun law.
Town Supervisor Karl Brabenec said the board’s opposition is unanimous.
“We are basically saying that the legislation that was passed by our state government officials and signed by our government is basically unconstitutional according to the Second Amendment,” Brabanec said.
The local lawmakers praised Republican Senators William Larkin and John Bonacic and Assemblywoman Annie Rabbitt for voting against the new gun law.
