Dwyer Victorious In Rensselaer

Nov 8, 2017

The Mayor of Rensselaer has been re-elected.

Democratic Rensselaer Mayor Dan Dwyer, first elected in 2006, won a fourth term Tuesday.

Under his leadership, the city has avoided property tax increases for three years in a row. Dwyer serves as a member of the city Budget Committee.

"...we've got costs under control. And we're moving ahead with development down here on the riverfront. We're a business-friendly city too," said Dwyer.

The Democrat pulled in more than 1,000 votes, besting Republican challenger Jim Konstantakis' tally of 799.
