Expert Touts Energy Conservation

Northampton, MA – In 2002, David Goldstein won a $500,000 "Genius Award" from the MacArthur Foundation. For the past 29 years, the physicist has worked for the New York City-based Natural Resources Defense Council. Goldstein tells WAMC that states in the Northeast could shut down their most polluting power plants if the states spent more on energy efficiency and conservation. An industry spokesman disagrees. WAMC's Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Eesha Williams has more.
