Giving to Higher Ed is on the Rise

Poughkeepsie, NY – A survey out from a division of the RAND Corporation shows that the nation's colleges and universities saw an upswing in charitable giving last year, an increase helped by a spike in gifts made by individuals. The annual survey also points to a rise in corporate giving, thanks to a recovering stock market, yet finds giving by foundations declined. WAMC's Allison Dunne looks at how some colleges and universities in the Hudson Valley fared.
