Governor Requests Case Managers to Aid Irene Recovery
The administration of Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin will ask the Legislature for money to hire 10 short-term case managers who would oversee the continued recovery from Tropical Storm Irene.
Administration Secretary Jeb Spaulding made the announcement Friday at the opening of a day-long conference for officials who have worked to rebuild the state after the 2011 storm.
The conference drew about 130 people including emergency management planners, funders for recovery projects, case managers, construction coordinators and leaders of volunteer groups.
Vermont Irene Recovery Officer Sue Minter says the goals include looking towards the future.
Workshops ranged from managing workflow and communications to dealing with “compassion fatigue” among those involved in recovery efforts.
