Green Mountain Power Warns Of Phone Scam

Green Mountain Power

Green Mountain Power says several of its customers have received phone calls from people saying they are associated with the utility and threatening immediate disconnection of service if the customer doesn't pay past due accounts.

The callers have told residential and commercial customers to release credit card information or use a money card, most often a Green Dot MoneyPak Card.

Spokeswoman Dorothy Schnure says calls demanding immediate payment and threatening disconnection are clearly a phone scam.

Schnure says customer service teams are available at 1-800-835-4672 and anyone with questions regarding billing and account status should give GMP a call.
