Half Straddle's "Seagull (Thinking of You)" at MASS MoCA
By Sarah LaDuke
Half Straddle is a New York City-based theater company that makes plays, performances, videos and music written and directed by Tina Satter. This Saturday they will perform their new work Seagull (Thinking of you) at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA.
For the show, Satter drew from Chekhov’s letters, varying Seagull translations, quasi-biographical facts from early productions of the play in Russia, and Chekhov’s perverse sense of comedy. Seagull (Thinking of You) is co-presented by Performance Space 122 and the New Ohio Theatre.
