High-Speed Chase Ends In Fiery Crash In Vermont

Vermont State Police say alcohol likely was a factor in a car chase that reached speeds of 105 mph before ending in a fiery crash.
Police say 33-year-old Trevor Parizo of Alburgh refused to stop for police late Sunday night on Route 78 in Swanton. He's accused of speeding over the bridge into Alburgh at 105 mph and later losing control and crashing into a telephone pole.

A Swanton police officer extinguished the fire. Parizo will be charged with grossly negligent operation of a motor vehicle, attempting to elude police and excessive speed. It was unclear Monday whether he has an attorney.
