Irene recovery to be focus of Vt. conference
NORTHFIELD, Vt. (AP) — People involved in Vermont's continuing effort to recover from Tropical Storm Irene are set to gather at Norwich University in Northfield to assess how far they've come and the future of those efforts.
The "Irene & Beyond" conference is expected to draw members of regional recovery committees, emergency management planners, funders for recovery projects, case managers, construction coordinators and leaders of volunteer groups.
Workshops at the conference are to range from managing workflow and communications among those involved in recovery efforts, to fundraising and combating compassion fatigue.
The events kick off at 9 a.m. Friday.
