Jets Victory Over Patriots Secured By Folk's Overtime Field Goal

In the NFL, the New York Jets beat the New England Patriots 30-27 Sunday. Nick Folk kicked a 42-yard field goal with 5:07 left in overtime to lift the Jets to victory.

Elsewhere, Dan Carpenter beat his old team by hitting a 31-yard field goal with 33 seconds left in Buffalo's 23-21 comeback against Miami.

It was just like old times for Peyton Manning at Indianapolis Sunday as he threw for three touchdowns. This time, Manning was on the losing end as the Colts beat the Broncos' 39-33.

Washington defeated Chicago 45-41. It was Cincinnati over Detroit 27-24. Dallas crushed Philadelphia 17-3. San Diego beat Jacksonville 24-6. Carolina doubled up St. Louis 30-15. Atlanta edged Tampa Bay 31-23. San Francisco won against Tennessee 31-17. Baltimore fell to Pittsburgh 19-16. Green Bay beat Cleveland 31-13 and Kansas City passed Houston 17-16.

And as a reminder lastly, the Giants take on the Vikings tonight at 8:40 at MetLife Stadium.

Checking the NHL, Columbus defeated Vancouver 3-1. Anaheim doubled up Dallas 6-3 and Nashville overcame Winnipeg 3-1.

In NBA preseason action, Minnesota trumped Boston 104-89. It was Memphis over Atlanta 90-82. Orlando beat Detroit 87-86. Oklahoma City won against Utah 88-82 and Sacramento fell to Portland 109-105.

In NASCAR, Jamie McMurray picked up his first Sprint Cup victory in three years taking the checkered flag at Talladega Superspeedway.

Finally in case you missed it, over the weekend the Red Sox closed their series against the Tigers in a 5-2 victory on Saturday. The World Series starts Wednesday in Boston. It’s the Red Sox against St. Louis.
