By Sarah LaDuke
This Sunday, Malcom Gets becomes the next acclaimed artist to perform at Helsinki Hudson in Hudson, NY as part of the Showstoppers New York cabaret series “Helsinki on Broadway.”
Gets’ show, “I Happen to Like New York,” features songs from Rodgers and Hammerstein, Cole Porter, Stephen Sondheim, James Taylor, Peter Mills – and more!
Malcolm Gets was nominated for a Tony Award for his work in Amour – other New York credits include Merrily We Roll Along, The Boys from Syracuse, and The Apple Tree. He made his Carnegie Hall debut as a guest star in Barbara Cook’s 2001 concert. The last time we spoke with him, he was appearing at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Ten Cents a Dance – a John Doyle musical with songs by Rodgers and Hart.
