Martin Luther King Day Events Planned

Martin Luther King Jr Day will be celebrated Monday in western Massachusetts with several events.

Martin Luther King Family Services of Springfield will hold its annual event at a new venue this year, the Community Music School in downtown Springfield.  The social service center’s interim president Ronn Johnson says the program, which begins at 11 will feature music, dance and readings of King’s speeches.

A series of Martin Luther King Day events are scheduled in Northampton, starting with a community breakfast and later a walking tour of abolitionist homes, a youth workshop, and multi-faith celebration.
