Mass AG Says Health Care Industry Needs Transparency

Massachusetts – The Massachusetts health care model has been getting a lot of national attention recently as politicians on Capitol Hill work to reform the nation's health care structure. Even though the Commonwealth has managed to get over 97 percent of its people covered, the program is becoming expensive and lawmakers on Beacon Hill are looking at ways to reign in costs. This week, the Massachusetts Office of Healthcare Finance and Policy is holding formal hearings on the issue. Our Berkshire Bureau Chief Charlie Deitz spoke with Attorney General Martha Coakley, who used the hearings as a platform to release the findings of her 77 page report on what's driving up health care costs at an alarming rate
